Privacy and data protection
- EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)
- Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG)
This is general guidance, not legal advice. ResearchDart never receives survey answers, which keeps sensitive data inside your survey platform.
Quota geography
The 16 federal states (Länder), often grouped into Nielsen areas for consumer research.
Time zones and timing
One time zone (CET, CEST in summer).
Fielding notes
- Decide between formal "Sie" and informal "du" for the whole questionnaire before translation; switching mid-survey reads as careless.
- German text runs longer than English, so check grid and button layouts on mobile after translation.
- German research standards place strong emphasis on anonymity; avoid collecting identifying data unless the study genuinely needs it.
Setting up a Germany project
Create the project with country DE and the survey language. If you field more than one language, create one project per language so quotas and incidence are tracked separately.
