Privacy and data protection

  • UK GDPR
  • Data Protection Act 2018
  • Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR)

This is general guidance, not legal advice. ResearchDart never receives survey answers, which keeps sensitive data inside your survey platform.

Quota geography

The twelve ITL 1 regions (formerly NUTS 1: nine English regions plus Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland) are the usual regional quota frame.

Time zones and timing

One time zone (GMT, BST in summer). Fieldwork launched on a weekday morning typically reaches steady fill by early evening.

Fielding notes

  • Adapt US questionnaires: postcode instead of ZIP code, GBP amounts, "mobile" rather than "cell phone", and UK education and occupation classifications.
  • Social grade (ABC1C2DE) is still widely requested for consumer quotas.
  • The UK is not part of the EU, but UK GDPR mirrors the EU rules closely; treat consent and data minimisation the same way.

Setting up a United Kingdom project

Create the project with country GB and the survey language. If you field more than one language, create one project per language so quotas and incidence are tracked separately.
